How much money does AEP really need?

As the new deregulation bill takes effect power bills all over Virginia keep rising. The burden on the elderly, disabled and the unemployed is staggering. Yet in today's Martinsville Bulletin they brag that they have paid their stockholders a dividend every quarter since 1910!! AEP fines for illegal emissions and "proposed" new plants are the responsibilty of the shareholders, not the consumers. What do you think you think should be on the forefront in Richmond right now, driver fees or electric bills?

Well said. This deregulation and subsequent rising prices has flown under the radar. Its NOT in the press.

Sadly all of the new bills put in to address these issues died a swift and quiet death in the Special Sub committee on Utilities. This special sub committee was formed ONE week before the vote on these bills. Senatore Saslaw, D-Fairfax, is Chairman of this committee. The largest power giant in VA contributed $65,000 to his campaign in the last two years. I guess that explains the "sudden death" and the "sudden committee".
